We design our educational programs to pick up the “missing links” in health care. The links that the current modern medicine model of care lacks. For this reason, our programs are designed for consumers (community members or health care practitioners) and based upon Holistic Nursing theoretical principals. These principals address the art and science of healing that considers the Whole Person: Mind, Body, and Spirit. It integrates the practice of conventional medicine (Western or Allopathic) with alternative therapies to prevent and heal, but most importantly to promote optimal health.
Upcoming Educational Programs:

Program Overview: Numen, defined as the animating force in nature, is a 75-minute documentary film focusing on the healing power of plants and the natural world. Featuring stunning footage of medicinal plants and thought-provoking interviews with Drs. Tiearona Lowdog and Larry Dossey, the late Bill Mitchell, ND, author Kenny Ausubel, herbalists Rosemary Gladstar, Phyllis Light and many others, the film calls for a re-awakening of traditional knowledge about plants and their uses. The film presents a sobering view of conventional healthcare and the dangers of environmental insults, as well as a vision of safe, effective and sustainable medicine. It offers stories about how individuals have improved their own health and well-being and provides concrete steps for viewers to do so as well. It inspires us all to deepen our relationship with the natural world and reminds us of the healing made possible by re-embracing our place in the wider web of life. Herbal Medicine Cabinet Series
Would you like to establish a more intimate relationship with plants by exploring how you can use them medicinally to help your family and yourself? Would you like to replace some chemical items in your medicine cabinet with safe, natural and proven plant based medicine? This introduction to Herbal Medicine series may be just want you are looking for.
With both feet comfortably planted in the Western Medicine and Traditional Medicine world, Bobbi Kolonay RN MS, Certified Holistic Nurse, can offer a unique prospective into the use of herbs to successfully curb various conditions.
As the dangers and side effects of pharmaceutical drugs come to light through research and deeper understanding of how these drugs work, the educated consumer is turning to traditional medicine, which has withstood the test of time. Consumers are looking for a means to prevent health threats, rather than responding to them after they are diagnosed. Herbal Medicine has proven itself in practice over thousands of years to be the answer and has been used by millions of people all over the globe.
During the rise of industry post the two great world wars, there has been widespread adoption of an exclusively chemical approach to the treatment of illnesses in the West. Through our Herbal Medicine Series we hope to bring back the knowledge of medicinal plants which historically has typically been passed from generation to generation until the early 1900s.

Tai Chi, Qigong, yoga, meditation
Throughout the ages, practitioners of sacred healing arts and science recognized that access to our energy, restored our body’s natural ability to heal, while also opening ourselves to experience deep rest and relaxation. This peacefulness and natural healing can be achieved through Tai Chi, Qigong, Yoga and Meditation.
Tai chi is a form of martial arts that is practiced for both its defense training and its health benefits. Qigong is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention. Originating in ancient India, yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines. Many Westerners are familiar with the art of Hatha Yoga. Meditation allows us to be mindful, while providing calm and peacefulness for our mind and body.
Current research demonstrates practicing one of these meditative movements improves strength, betters balance, reduces pain and stiffness, enhances sleep, improves memory, and increases immunity. Through these practices you can help the body heal itself, slowing or even reversing the effects of certain conditions.
